Add Some Texture

Simon Says Stamp Monday (7-25-16) Challenge: Add Some Texture

This week's Monday challenge was to add texture.  So I decided to play with my texture paste again and make wood!  I also added texture by using a lot of dimension and ribbon.

This is a 7" x 5" top fold landscape card.  The burgundy layer is 7" x 5".  The green patterned paper is 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".  The wood grain piece is cut using a 4 1/4" stitched square die.  The wood grain was created using a stencil and texture paste.  The texture paste was tinted with gathered twigs and walnut stain Distress Inks and the background is walnut stain.  The kraft banner is 5" x 7/8" and the "hello" is die cut using Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello.  The Cowgirl Boots stamp is by Stampendous.

Copic Markers used on the stamp.
Boots: E97, E08, E09, E47, YG91 and YG93
Boot straps: YG95, YG97 and YG99
Skirt: YG91 and YG93
Skin: E51, E00, E11 and E04

I did also add some clear Wink of Stella on the skirt and boot straps.

For the scripty hello I cut it out three times and layered them together.

I created the bow using the bow easy tool.

Sweet Summertime

Beach Babes: AI Challenge - Sweet Summertime

These awesome ladies are enjoying my favorite way to spend a lazy summer day....beach and a cocktail!

This is a simple one layerish card.  I Copic colored the image and loosely fussy cut it out.  (The first thing I do when I get a new stamp set is color all the images and keep it in a clear storage case for future use.)  The ladies are embellished with clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.  I searched the Cricut library in Design Space and found this island with palm trees and beach umbrella.  I cut the top of the umbrella from some fun pattern paper and stamped it with beach babes from the stamp set. The background is water paper from one of my paper pads.  Everything is adhered down flat, but I did bring some the palm frowns and the corner of the umbrella over the top of the ladies.  This gives the card dimension without adding the bulk of foam tape.  lastly I adhered it to the 7" x 5" card base and rounded all four corners.

This card will surely bring a smile to anyone's face!

Things with Wings

Simon Says: Things With Wings
Wednesday Blog Challenge (July 20, 2016)

The card base was created using Neenah Solar White 110# cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" to make an A2 size landscape card. The Apple Green layer is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" with the edges sponged with twisted citron Distress Ink.  The kraft layer is die cut with the largest Wonky stitched rectangle.  I used the twisted citron with the stencil.  The white square is 3 1/4" die cut using the stitched square die and embossed.  I then inked the raised embossing images with the twisted citron as well as around the edges.

The dragonflies were stamped with the rock and roll method (which I need more practice at!).  I added detail using Copic markers.  I also added clear Wink of Stella and fussy cut them out.  I later added glossy accents to them as well.  The sentiment was stamped on the Apple Green cardstock with the Lagoon ink and VersaMark then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed it out and flagged the end and inked the edges with twisted citron.

To put it all together I adhered the green and kraft layers down flat then used foam tape on the white embossed square, sentiment flag and dragonflies.  And finished up with some dots of liquid pearls.

***I used a Recollections stencil and stamp set to create this card, but I was not happy with the quality of the stencils or stamps so I have linked below similar items.
