Simon Says Stamp Monday Blog Challenge - Nautical/By The Sea
A perfect summer day to me is sitting on the beach watching a beautiful sunset! And a boat on the horizon just makes a really pretty silhouette. This was my inspiration.
I started with some Strathmore watercolor paper and my Distress Inks. For the water I used blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon and peacock feathers. For the sky I used ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade, mustard seed and scattered straw. I also inked around the edges with vintage photo. I added a dashed line around the edges with a Sepia Copic multi liner. The boat and sentiment was stamped in black and I added extra waves with a Copic C7. I used Tim Holtz Tag Collection framelits to cut out the tag shape.
The card base is kraft, 10" x 7" scored at 5" to make a 5" x 7" card. I used a metallic brown paper for the first layering piece (4 3/4" x 6 3/4"). The next layer is a piece of burlap (4" x 6 1/4").
Embellishments: For the string in the tag I used a thick hemp baker's twine. The buttons were some that I had in my stash of embellishments. I will try to find something similar to link below in the product list.

ReplyDeleteReally pretty. I like that it's distressed but not overly-so.
